Veronica H. Barrington of Cowarts passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was 62.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow in Crestlawn cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at Westgate Church of Christ. Flowers are being accepted and can be delivered to Sunset at 1808 Barrington Road.
Mrs. Barrington was born on Feb. 9, 1945, in Col�n, Republic of Panama, and lived there until she moved to Cowarts in 1983. Mrs. Barrington worked at Village Cleaners for eight years until her health forced her retirement. She was an active member of St. Columba Catholic Church, participating in the Hispanic Choir and the Panama Canal Ladies Luncheon group.
Mrs. Barrington was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Morris de Allen; her husband, Donald T. Barrington; a brother, Jorge Allen; a sister, Gloria Allen; an aunt, Mary Morris.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessica H. Barrington of Jersey City, N.J.; sons, Joseph M. Barrington and his wife, Adi M., of Gainesville, Fla., Daniel E. Barrington and his wife, Jennifer P., of Taylor, Jovan D. Barrington and his wife, Ana E., of Dothan; grandchildren, Myles E. Barrington and Riley Eve (Evita) Barrington, both of Taylor; her father, George Allen of the Republic of Panama; brothers, Gregorio Allen, Rolando Allen, Rogelio Allen, Ernesto Allen, and Mario Allen, all of the Republic of Panama; a sister, Virginia Meneses of the Republic of Panama.
