Billy Charles Knight, a resident of County Road 415 in Abbeville, died unexpectedly Friday night, Nov. 23, 2007, in the emergency room of a Dothan hospital. He was 62.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. John W. Helton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Free Will Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary in Abbeville. At other times, the family will be at the home of a brother-in-law, Roy Wilson, at 318 County Road 98 in Abbeville.
Mr. Knight was a native of Kinsey, son of the late B.C. Knight and Mildred Corine Grantham Knight. He lived in the Wills Crossroads community of Henry County most of his lifetime. Mr. Knight was retired, due to disability, from Danzey Oil and Tire Company in Dothan.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Knight; sister, Kathy Carnell; brother, Robert Knight; and a special nephew, Ronald Bane.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Patsy Wilson Knight, Abbeville; three daughters, Dana Knight Enriquez and husband, Rogelio Enriquez, Kelly Ann Knight and husband, Luis Bernal, Shannon Knight Palacio and husband, Jose Palacio, all of Abbeville; two sons, Kenneth Knight and wife, Angie Knight, Abbeville, Joseph Knight and wife, Tammy Borg, Dothan; six sisters, Inez Webb and husband, Bobby Webb, Headland, Patricia Jenkins and husband, Lamar Jenkins, Slocomb, Linda Mertes and husband, Steve Mertes, Dothan, Joyce Griffin and husband, Jack Griffin, Corinth, Miss., Sheila Knight, Dothan, Mildred Pharr and husband, John Pharr, Pensacola, Fla.; six brothers, Howard Knight and wife, Renadale Knight, Gordon, Thomas Knight and wife, Paula Knight, Dothan, Glenn Knight, Headland, Hubert Knight and wife, Stella Knight, Dothan, Dennis Knight, Kinsey, Earl Knight and wife, Natalie Knight, Bainbridge, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, Blake Knight and wife, Cecily, Amber Knight, Samantha Knight, Jaden Cannady, Tanner Knight, Alex Enriquez, Hannah Enriquez, Christian Knight, Kaleb Knight, Shana Knight, Clayton Palacio, Yecenia Palacio and Nicolas Palacio; a former daughter-in-law, Connie Knight; and a son-in-law, Reynaldo Molina; numerous nieces and nephews.
