Mr. Hinton C. McKinnon of Highway 160, Westville, Fla., passed away at his residence, Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007. He was 77.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at West Pittman Baptist Church with the Revs. Ivaloy Loper and Eddie Eaton officiating. Mr. McKinnon will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the West Pittman Baptist Church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Nov. 16, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to West Pittman Baptist Church Building Fund, 1603 Bradley Road, Westville, FL 32464.
Mr. McKinnon was born May 27, 1930, in Holmes County, Fla., to the late Dannie F. and Bessie Owen McKinnon. He was a lifelong resident of Holmes County. Hinton proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and farming. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Jeneice Huggins McKinnon of Westville, Fla.; one son, Forrest Wayne McKinnon of Dothan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Gail and Lynn Allen of Campbellton, Fla., Peggy and Mark Bracewell of Lake Butler, Fla.; four stepchildren, Betty and Jimmy McGowan of Atlanta, Ga., Jack and Kerry Commander, Jeff and Lisa Commander, all of Westville, Fla., John and Kim Commander of Geneva; one sister, Maxine and Cawthon Parker of Panama City, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
