Harold Motley

Harold Motley of Chancellor, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in Tuscaloosa. He was 73. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Meadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Huey Anderson officiating. Burial will follow with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until service time, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007. Born in Coffee County, May 15, 1934, Harold was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He taught in the public school for more than 30 years and retired from the Enterprise City School System. Mr. Motley was preceded in death by his parents, D.L. and Carrie Motley; his wife, Ceil A. Motley; his brother Max Motley; and sister-in-law, Rachel Motley. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Ceil Motley, Chancellor; his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Reginald and Khristina Motley, Tuscaloosa; three grandchildren, Christian Zane Motley, Christopher Preston Motley and Khristina Claire Motley, all of Tuscaloosa; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Travis and Nell Motley, Enterprise, Willene Motley, Enterprise, Jerry Motley, Chancellor. Active Pallbearers will be Scott Motley, Jason Motley, Devane Motley, Paul Lee, Joe Chastine and Ken Spruill. Searcy Funeral Home of Enterprise, (334) 347-2517, is in charge of arrangements.
