B.J. Blackburn of Enterprise, passed away, Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at his home. He was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donny Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with military honors and Providence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at the funeral home.
B.J. Blackburn retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of service in the Air Force. His overseas tours included duty in Panama, the Republic of China and West Germany.
Mr. Blackburn was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Blackburn, and a sister, Jean Blackburn Trammell.
Surviving are his wife, Judith G. Blackburn, Enterprise; one daughter, Suzette G. Blackburn Hilton, Enterprise; three sons, Bobby Joe Blackburn Jr., and Donna, New Albany, Miss.; Robert C. Blackburn and Sue, Sarasota, Fla.; Joseph W. Blackburn and Luca, Enterprise; two sisters, June Blackburn Ford and Homer, Huntsville; Clara Blackburn Curtis, Sylacauga; 12grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
