Mrs. Ruth E. Hatfield

Mrs. Ruth E. Hatfield of Enterprise passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at the family residence following a brief illness. She was 65. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 from the First Assembly of God Church in New Brockton with the Revs. Alan Burnett and Billy Cardwell officiating. Burial will following in the Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise with Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at noon and continuing until service time. Mrs. Hatfield was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. She worked for over 40 years as an educator, most recently as a school principal. Survivors include one son, Carlos Alvarado, Enterprise; two daughters, Liz Herbig and Vanessa Hilliard, both of Byron, Ill.; her parents, Florencio and Laura E. Bermudez Ayala, Enterprise; three sisters, Helen Taylor, Enterprise, Nancy Bundrick, Rockhill, S.C., Elsie Braun (Tom), Enterprise; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
