Fannie J. Roberson, of Skipper Road in Slocomb, passed away at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was 70.
Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home in Dothan. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmy Cook and Rev. Steve Etheridge. Visitation was held Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Gardens of Memory.
Mrs. Roberson was born Feb. 16, 1937, in Georgetown, Ga. After having become disabled, she remained at her residence and loved being a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved playing old puzzles and enjoyed being outside.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bo Burns and wife Rebecca Hyde Burns; a son, Keith Roberts; a sister, Winnie Hamby; two brothers, Charlie Lee and L.D. Burns; a granddaughter, Cassie Roberts.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Smith and husband (Roger) of Malvern; a son, Eddie Roberts and wife (Deborah) of Midland City; a sister, Nancy Gibson of Phenix City; four grandchildren, a great grandchild and one very special friend of 21 years, Mike Lowe.
Active pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, Daniel Bass, Johnnie Pippins, Bob Fritz, Neol Smith, Ronnie Smith and Mike Lowe.
Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home, (334) 793-1117, is in charge of arrangements.
