A spiritual and special mother, grandmother, and one who was loved and admired by Abbeville, and dedicated to serving the Lord and her family has departed her earthly home to meet her creator. The angels sweetly lifted her early Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Dothan.
Rose Freeman was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Abbeville, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Will and Valede "Jenny" Ward-Baker. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, David Freeman; two sisters, Willie and Sis Baker; and five brothers, Less, Locy, Ed, Jess, and John Baker; two sons, David W. Freeman and Willie J. Freeman.
Ms. Rose Freeman is survived by one sister, Louise Baker Jackson; one son, Wali Abu Farid; one sister-in-law, Eliza Baker; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Mary Magdalene Baptist Church.
