Patricia Ann Jackson of Dothan went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, John and Wendy Chesnut after a long illness. She was 68 years old.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007 in the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home, with the Reverend Nathan Sims officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, October 24, 2007. At all other times, the family will receive family and friends at the home of John and Wendy Chesnut, 103 Maypop Court, Dothan. Flowers are being accepted at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, or 103 Maypop Court.
Mrs. Jackson was born on November 10, 1938 in Dothan. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, James Thomas Cole(Tom), of 36 years and her father, Edward Henry(Jack) Hicks of Thomasville, Ga.; Stepfather and mother, Malcolm and Katie Lou Smith of Dothan.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Jackson(Ed) of Dothan; two daughters, Wendy Chesnut and husband, John of Dothan; Patty Killingsworth and husband, Tommy of Cowarts; two sons, Gerry Cole and wife, Regina of Ashford; Lee Cole and wife, Wanda of Cowarts; two step-sons, Mark Jackson and wife, Karen of Dothan; Kevin Jackson and wife, Hollie of Cottonwood; one brother, Kenneth Hicks of Cairo, Ga.; and one sister, Shelia Parker and husband, Charles of Dothan; grandchildren, Christy Raley and husband, Jason, Jason Shriver and wife, Keri, Chad Killingsworth, Blake Cole, Dylan Cole, Lauren Cole, Amy Davis and husband, Robert, Jessica Foster and husband, Shannon, Jacey Chesnut, Amber Raley, Skylar Jackson, Grady Jackson, one great-grandson, Cole Raley, several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Jackson’s grandsons, Jason Shriver, Chad Killingsworth, Blake Cole, Dylan Cole, grandsons-in-law, Jason Raley, nephews, Chris Parker and Ricky Cole.
The family would like to express their appreciation and a special thanks to Dr. Chastain, and to all the wonderful people of Home Health and Wiregrass Hospice.
