Mrs. Myrtis Lorene Hagler Lavender of the Salem community, died Friday evening, Oct. 19, 2007, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 87.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, from Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, C/O Mr. Don Johnson, P. O. Box 196, Skipperville, AL 36374.
Mrs. Lavender was born May 26, 1920, in the Peniel community of Dale County to the late Lorena Frances Mizell Hagler and Wilburn J. Hagler. She married her late husband, Ernest Edmond Lavender, and they made their home in Barbour County.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda L. Hoar, seven sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Vickie and Roger Thompson of Ozark, Martha Wynn and Sara Doster of the Salem community; one son-in-law, Jerry Hoar of Ozark; one brother-in-law, James Moates of Clio; six grandchildren, Mark Wynn and his wife, Brenda, Garry Doster, Terri Lewis and her husband, Anthony, Wayne Hoar and his wife, Amanda, Angela Thompson, and Brad Thompson; five great-grandchildren; Brittney Wynn, Wesley Wynn, Lindie Lewis, Aidan Lewis, and Owen Hoar.
