Nellie Ruth Underwood, a resident of Pansey, died Sunday Oct. 14, 2007, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, 11 a.m. from Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Ashford, with the Rev. Rufus Baker, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery with Varner Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, 4-6 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel.
Her survivors include four children, two daughters, Eleanor Anderson and Sabrina (J.C) Evans, and two sons, Stafford (Annie) Underwood, all of Pansey, and Gregory (Valerie) Underwood of Dothan; her grandchildren, Elite Evans, Kevis (Jamecia) and Johnathon Dickson, Eddie Evans III, Manisha and Gregory Underwood Jr., and Ashanti Martin; three great-grandchildren, Kevis and Diamond Dickson and Katoris "Bubba" Evans; brothers-in-law, Oscar (Pauline) Underwood and William (Roberta) Underwood; sisters-in-law, Ruthie Underwood and Katrina Cargill; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special friends, Carrie Duncan and Lessie "Boot" Granger.
