Robert "Bob" Seviour, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at the Long Term Care facility in Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 74.
Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Barry Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home Friday morning before the service.
Mr. Seviour was born April 18, 1933, in Mansfield, Mass., to the late Gordon and Alice Kelliher Seviour. He graduated from high school in Medway, Mass., and was later drafted into the U. S. Army. Robert worked as a supply clerk and served three tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired from the Army after 20 years of service. Upon his retirement he enrolled at Wallace College where he learned to build cabinets. Robert worked at Woodhams Cabinet Shop, the Touch of Wood and Mathews Cabinet Shop before opening his own business. He enjoyed working and staying busy, but always had time for his favorite hobby his grandchildren who he was extremely proud of.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gleneldna Elmore Seviour; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Rob Blackmon of Ozark and Amy and Todd Nichols of Andalusia; three grandchildren, Hogan Todd and Ella Kate Nichols of Andalusia and Reed Daniel Blackmon of Ozark; four sisters, Jean Blair of Massachusetts, Kay Choate of Franklin, Mass., Dot Henry of Hilton Head, S.C., and Alice Hassapelis and husband, James, of Stockton Springs, Maine; several nieces and nephews.
Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark, (334) 774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.
