Ruth M. Dryden, 93, of Marianna, Fla., died Oct. 7, 2007, at her residence.
Mrs. Dryden was a native of Moriah Center, N.Y., and lived in Jackson County, Fla., for many years. She was the former owner of C and M Grocery Company of Birmingham, and owner of Circle D Ranch and Western Shop. She loved to travel, work in the yard and in the family owned business at Circle D. Ruth was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Eastman Dryden, in 2002, and a step-son, George Eastman Dryden Jr.
Survivors include one son, Matt C. Dryden and wife, Barbara of Marianna, Fla.; two daughters, Mildred "Sister" Klingemann and husband, Howard, of Bonifay, Fla., and Mary Jo Gibson of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; three step-daughters, Dotsey Hofferman of Wisconsin, Mary Ellen Dryden of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Alice Terri Jordan of Virginia Beach, Va.; caregivers, Shirley Rhynes, Joyce Webb, Vicki Godwin, Izetta Butler, DeLoris Gillette, Rosa Pollock and Erica Barnes; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at Maddox Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Register officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel.
