Glenda Faye Taylor Beaty, 62, of Monte Carlo Drive, Dothan, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Dothan with Dr. Joseph
Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be receiving
flowers.
Mrs. Beaty was born Nov. 16, 1944 in Barbour County. She was the daughter of the late James Merrill Taylor and Willie Lois Scroggins Taylor.
Mrs. Beaty was a dedicated educator for 25 years. She was a teacher at Fort Rucker Elementary School, Tillinghurst Elementary School in Columbus, Ga., and Cottonwood Elementary School. Mrs. Beaty served as a counselor for Kendrick High School, Dothan High School, Northview High School, Midland City Elementary School, Newton Elementary School, Dale County School and Opelika Middle School. She also served as President of the Board for Child Care at Evergreen Presbyterian Church for several years. She was a member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church for 27 years.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Larry Beaty of Dothan; a daughter and son-in-law, the Rev. Ashley Beaty-Perry and husband John of Fishers, Ind.; two grandchildren, Michele Perry and Zoe Perry, both of Fishers, Ind.; two brothers, Billy Taylor and wife Shirley of Bremen, Ga.; and Jerry Taylor and wife Mary of Clayton.
Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home, (334) 793-1117, is in charge of arrangements.
