Mrs. Ruth Whitlock Watkins

Mrs. Ruth Whitlock Watkins, age 62, of Ozark, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 25, 2007, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. William Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday evening. Mrs. Watkins was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Dale County to the late Myrtle Peters Whitlock and Samuel "Sammy J." Whitlock. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Whitlock. Survivors include her husband of 13 years, William Watkins of Ozark; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Rose and Jimmie Stafford of Hartford, Rene` Childers of Dothan, Reba and Alan McLendon of Ozark, Rhonda and Roger Jones of Elverta, Calif.; two stepchildren, Arlo Watkins of Arizona and Alexis Weaver of California; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Debbie Strickland of Ozark.
