Mr. Ronnie Lamar McSwain

Mr. Ronnie Lamar McSwain of Hartford (Post Oak Community) passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at his home after an extended illness. He was 55. Funeral services will be Wednesday in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating. Burial will follow in New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. McSwain was born on March 27, 1952, in Hartford to Francis McSwain and the late William McSwain. He retired from the National Guard of Slocomb and was employed with Sony in Dothan for 27 years. His son, Chad McSwain, and his father, William (Billy) McSwain, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Sybil McSwain of Hartford; a daughter,Heather Harrell (Freddy) of Georgia; two stepsons, Steve Turner (Mary Nolen) and Tony Bottoms, all of Hartford; one grandson, Austin Harrell of Georgia; one granddaughter, Morgan Harrell of Georgia; his mother, Francis McSwain of Slocomb; two brothers, Roger McSwain (Sherry) of Cottonwood, Randy McSwain of Mobile; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Johnny Cox, Danny McSwain, Hildon McSwain, Mike Wynn, Brian Lewis, James Brown and Jessie Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Sony. Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb, (334) 886-7777, is in charge of arrangements.
