Funeral services for William Morgan Snellgrove will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2007, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Hosea Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Mr. Snellgrove was born in Houston County, near Headland, but was reared in the Webb area in Houston County. He was a 1959 graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia. Mr. Snellgrove lived in Cottonwood before moving to Dothan. He was retired as the owner and operator of Williams Ramada BP in Dothan. In earlier years, Mr. Snellgrove was employed as an automobile salesman and used car manager. He formerly served in the Alabama Air National Guard in Dothan. Mr. Snellgrove was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey Whittler Snellgrove and Annie Mae Porter Snellgrove, a son, Todd Morgan Snellgrove, a sister, Joyce Heitzenrater, two brothers, Garvious Snellgrove and Ray Snellgrove and a brother-in-law, Curtis Benton.
Surviving relatives include a son, William Mark Snellgrove and wife, Kelly Kolar Snellgrove, Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kate Snellgrove, Lindsey Snellgrove and Jack Snellgrove; four sisters, Jean Benton, Thomasville, Ga.; Dot Shelley and husband, Jay Shelley, Trussville; Helen Bruner, Dothan; Norma Ott and husband, Carlton Ott, Dothan; a brother, Jerry Snellgrove and wife, Kathryn Snellgrove, Dothan; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; a special friend, Emily Snellgrove.
