Mr. Ralph L. Glenn of Ariton died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at his residence. He was 84.
Funeral services will be Thursday at Center Ridge Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Guy Causey officiating. Burial will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials to "Bread of Life Ministry" at Center Ridge Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
Ralph Glenn was born in Dale County on Feb. 1, 1923, to the late Walter and Lela Outlaw Glenn. At an early age Mr. Glenn joined the Merchant Marines where he served in World War II. He returned to Alabama, obtained his A&P License and worked at Fort Rucker for 32 years before retiring. Mr. Glenn enjoyed his retirement especially fishing. He proudly served as a Deacon at Center Ridge Baptist Church for many years. He looked forward to participating in the "Bread of Life Ministry" at the church.
Mr. Glenn is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Doris Glenn; infant daughter, Evelyn Annette Glenn; two sisters, Vivian Hines and Vonnie Danner; and two brothers, Cecil Glenn and J. Glenn.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Syretha and Charles Stevens of Midland City and Janice and James Wood of Dothan; two grandchildren, Rick and Rhonda Cordle of Dothan, Dwayne and Jennifer Stevens of Ozark; four great-grandchildren, Richard and Hunter Cordle of Dothan, Joshua and Jessica Stevens of Ozark; one sister, Inez Hines of Ozark; and one brother, Muriel Glenn of Newton.
Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark, (334) 774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.
