The Rev. William Grady Driggers of Samson passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Flowers Hospital. He was 70.
Funeral services will be Thursday in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Phillip Barnes, Drew Yates and Jerry Leisz officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
Rev. Driggers was pastor of Trinity Church of God in Samson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Vilettie Driggers; his first wife, Geraldine Quiller Driggers, one grandson, Scottie Mock and one sister, Frances Beckham.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Knowles Driggers of Samson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Dwight Glenn of Auburndale, Fla., Cindy and Bill Yates of Monroeville, and Jan and Charlie Wood of Samson; one stepdaughter and her husband, Rhonda and Pat Thomas of Samson; one brother, Brady Driggers (Faye) of Geneva; four sisters, Agnes Weeks of Geneva, Jimmie Branch (Jerry) of Dothan; Margaret Pridgen (Jearl) of Samson, Peggy Warren (Bobby Joe) of Samson; five grandchildren, Tangie Mock Durham of Auburndale, Drew and Kim Yates, Alyssa Yates of Monroeville, Whitney and Tiffany Wood of Samson; one great-grandchild, Lizzie Durham of Auburndale; two step grandchildren, Cindy Sacks (Tracie) and Tina and Jim Mock, ll; one step great granddaughter, Tera Mock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pittman Funeral Home in Samson, (334) 898-7141, is in charge of arrangements.
