Geraldine "Jerri" Poitevint of Dothan died early Thursday morning, Sept. 6, 2007, at Flowers Hospital. She was 85.
Memorial services for Mrs. Poitevint will be Saturday in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage at 3 p.m. with Dr. Johnny Fain and the Rev. Bob Gross officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Poitevint was born July 10, 1922, at the home of her parents, Charles "Charlie" Rayford and "Annie" Jane Cherry Robinson Sr. in Dothan. She was a 1940 graduate of Dothan High School and a member of the Glee Club and voted best dressed. Mrs. Poitevint also graduated from Riley Business College. She was employed with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, educational secretary at First Baptist Church and an administrative assistant at the Houston-Love Memorial Library. Mrs. Poitevint was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and the Martha Sunday school class.
Mrs. Poitevint is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Rayford Robinson Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Clarence Lester Poitevint Jr. of Dothan; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia "Cindy" Poitevint Hardy and her husband Mickey; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Lester Poitevint and his wife Denise of Dothan; grandchildren, Amy Poitevint Elmore and her husband Kiley, Celeste Hardy Butler and her husband Scott, Angela Joy Hardy, all of Birmingham, Kendra Faith Harris and her husband Jeff of Dothan; great-grandchildren, Wesley Scott Butler, Ann Margaret Harris, Brody Michael Butler, Adam Wayne Elmore, Hardy Monroe Butler; brother, Jack Davie Robinson and his wife Nita of Dothan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Robinson of Dothan; four nieces and two nephews.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, (334) 702-1712, is in charge of arrangements.
