Lillian Steed Hutto of Dothan died early Tuesday morning, Sept. 4, 2007, in Westside Terrace in Dothan. She was 78.
Graveside services will be Thursday in Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John W. Helton Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville. At other times, the family will be at the home of a son, Don Hutto, 110 Kane Road in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mrs. Hutto was a native of Akron, Ohio, but moved with her family to Roopville, Ga., as a child. She lived in the Screamer community of Henry County as a young adult but lived near Shorterville most of her lifetime before moving to Dothan in 1989. Mrs. Hutto was a member of the Shorterville Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by the O.E.O. Program in Henry County and New Hope Industries in Dothan. In later years, she was self-employed as the owner and operator of Lillians Upholstery and Draperies.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Clint Hutto; a sister, Dorothy Taylor; a brother, Billy Steed and her parents, Hugh Alvin Steed and Ethel Mae Coates Steed.
Surviving relatives include her husband Paul Lamar Hutto of Dothan; two daughters, Helen Blankenship and husband Doug Blankenship of Dothan, Patricia Prevatte and husband Kenneth Prevatte of Dothan; two sons, Morris Lamar Hutto and wife Mary Hutto of Shorterville, Don Hutto and wife Debbie Hutto of Headland; three brothers, Hugh Steed, Jack Steed and Wendell Steed; seven grandchildren, Lana Blankenship, Alex Blankenship, Sarah Prevatte, Ben Hutto, Jennifer Hutto Smith and husband Brent Smith, Justen Hutto and Cade Hutto.
Holman-Abbeville Mortuary, (334) 585-5261, is in charge of arrangements.
