Casey Drew Gilmore of County Road 55 in Hartford passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, with his loving family at his side. He was 33.
Funeral services will be Wednesday in the chapel of Sorrells funeral Home in Geneva at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Stone officiating and Michael Kelley delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Lowery Church of Christ cemetery in Kinston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Geneva today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Geneva County ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) P.O. Box 234, Geneva, AL 36340.
Casey was born Dec. 20, 1973, in Lakeland, Fla. He was a student at the Merle Wallace Purvis Center for many years.
His grandparents, Daniel E. Massey, Versie and Bascom Fleming and Cora Lee Gilmore, as well as four uncles, Danny, Johnny and Joseph E. Massey and James Thomas Gilmore, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his parents, Billy Harold and Gloria Pam Fleming of Hartford; two sisters, Kellie Fulford and husband Wade of Samson, Danielle Thompson of Hartford; maternal grandmother, Geretha Massey of Geneva; one nephew, Justin Fulford of Samson; one niece, Christa Thompson of Hartford; several special aunts and uncles, Tamar and Bucky Wilks and Dorcas Massey all of Geneva, Bennie and Kay Massey, Paul and Janet Massey, Bill Massey and Bob Massey all of Hartford, Eddie Massey of Huntsville,Ouida Moore of Columbus, Ga., Havilond and Hazel Fleming of Samson; several cousins and a very special friend, Mable Dunn of Geneva; Casey also leaves to cherish his memory his special family at the Merle Wallace Purvis Center.
