Winifred Marie Dyess Golden

Winifred Marie Dyess Golden of Graceville, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Tallahassee, Fla., following an extended illness. She was 82. Funeral services will be today at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Graceville at 11 a.m., with interment following at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today at 10 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home. Ms. Golden, of the Baptist faith, was born Oct. 25, 1924, in the Fort Myers, Fla., area. She spent her entire adult life in the Graceville area as a housewife and, until her retirement, an employee of the Holmes County school system at Poplar Springs School. Ms. Golden is preceded in death by her husband Russell Ivy Golden and one son, Freddie Golden. She is survived by two sons, James W. Golden of Graceville and Tallahassee and Gerald Golden of Graceville; three daughters, Jeanette Scott of Bartow, Fla., Barbara Crutchfield of Dothan and Joan Bader of Littleton, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gwen Murphy of Alva, Fla.
