Mrs. Jean Baxter of League City, Texas, formerly of Troy passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, in a Houston, Texas hospital. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Jean Baxter on Saturday at Louisville Baptist Church in Louisville at 2 p.m. The Revs. R.C. Belcher and Robert Baker will officiate. Special music will be provided by Marilyn Bennett. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clio.
Jean Baxter was preceded in death by her parents, Amuel Berry Canant and Haullie Frances Bounds; her husband Clyde Baxter and brother, Buren Canant.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ed (Donna) Baxter of League City, Texas, Richard (Sharon) Baxter of Canton, Mich., Bruce (Cheryl) Baxter of Deer Park, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn (Dorothy) Canant of Birmingham; sister and brother-in-law, Georgia (Charlie) Parker of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, Donna (Larry) Harrison of Louisville, Diane Jones Jelane (Charles) Price of Clio; nephews, David Canant of Birmingham and Randy Canant of Birmingham.
Pallbearers will include Michael Kabboord, Daniel Kabboord, Jason Baxter, Kevin Baxter, Richard Baxter Jr. and Jeffery Baxter.
Keahey Funeral Home in Clio, (334) 397-4242, is in charge of arrangements.
