Clarence Lamar “Buck” Weeks, a resident of Dothan, passed away Friday morning, August 24, 2007. He was 91.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Private burial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
Mr. Weeks was born August 28, 1915, in Geneva County, the son of the late Sim and Gertrude Weeks. He lived the early years of his life in Wicksburg. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Weeks’ working career spanned law enforcement, sales and management. In earlier years he and his wife were well-loved musicians at weddings, funerals and revivals throughout the area. An avid golfer, he enjoyed being a part of the Hackers Golf Group at the Dothan Country Club. Mr. Weeks was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church.
Mr. Weeks is predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Minnie Will Davis Weeks who died in 2000 and two sons-in-law, James E. Howell and Jerry W. Townsend.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jackson and husband, John of Eufaula, Linda Clayton and husband, Jim of Dallas, Texas; ten grandchildren, John (Tina) Howell, SueAnne (Mark) Deese, James (Stacy) Howell, Eric (Christy) Howell, Meredith (Jeff) Allen, Daniel (Andrea) Howell, Lauren Clayton, Rachel (Jason) Waters, Elizabeth Clayton and Caroline Clayton; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Cullen Weeks of Wicksburg; a dear friend, Frances Crocker; several nieces and nephews also survive.
