On Aug. 24, 2007, Robert Felix Stinson quietly and peacefully entered into eternal rest, freed from many years of suffering. He died in Troy at Troy Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Troy. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The Revs. Ray Stinson, Les Lee, and W. O. Sanders will conduct the services with special music by The Wilkerson Family, the Rev. Les Lee and Bobby Lee. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Myrtis Stinson, and a brother, Alvin Stinson.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Opal Cotten Stinson of Troy; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Les Lee; two grandsons, Bobby and Daniel Lee, all of Dothan; a brother and his wife, James E. and Linda Stinson of Tuskegee; a sister and her husband, Carolyn and Keith Meeks of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Jerrie Stinson of New Hope.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Lee, Daniel Lee, Chris Childree, Vijay Nagpal, Curt Stinson, Jason Bowden, Christopher Burbank, and Paul Bowden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Anderson, Paul Farmer, and Bobby Hattaway.
Holman Funeral Home of Ozark, (334) 774-5348, is in charge of arrangements.
