Mr. James E. Bush, of Enterprise, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 25, 2007 at the Medical Center Enterprise. He was 83.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, from the Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Susannah Pittman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday beginning at 2 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Mr. Bush was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Columbus, Ga., to the late John Bush and Paralee Dudley Bush. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Enterprise and was a part of the Edna Guice Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Occupational Forces in Japan during World War II. He was a member of the Jubilee Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Atkins Bush, Enterprise; one daughter, Susan Helms and her husband, Pete, Enterprise; four grandchildren, Peter M Helms, Phenix City, John A. Helms, Montgomery, James Matt Helms and Heather Helms, both of Enterprise; two great-grandchildren, James Helms and Ashlynn Helms; niece, Louise Norton, Eufaula.
