Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at Calvary Baptist Church (Cottonwood) with the Revs. Gene Gainous and John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cottonwood City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home of Dothan directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church "Building Fund", 267 Metcalf Street, Cottonwood, AL 36320. Mrs. McCord was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Houston County and lived all of her life in Cottonwood. She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Cottonwood and was a member of the Silver Teens. Mrs. McCord is predeceased by her husband, Wilmer McCord; a daughter, Glenda Price; a great-granddaughter, Haley Price; a great grandson, Jamey Price and her parents, S. B. and Lorna Mae Sellers Hinson. Survivors include three children, Ira McCord and his wife, LaRenda of Cottonwood, Sandra Hatcher and her husband, Billy Ray of Cottonwood, Mary Ann Miller and her husband, Charles of Ashford; grandchildren, Rick Price and his wife, Tracey, Michael Price and his wife, Kim, Shannon Hatcher and his wife Krystal, Michele Alphord and her husband, Jimmy, Chuck Miller and his wife, Katie, Debbie Baxley and her husband, Greg, and Brandon Outlaw; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Ona Lee Barfield of Dothan; a special cousin, Essie Moss of Cottonwood; several nieces and nephews.
