Emily Jane Spicer

Emily Jane Spicer of Coffee Springs passed away at Medical Center Enterprise on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, after a brief illness. She was 73. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Samson with the Rev. Dewey Anderson and the Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Liddie Moore and three brothers, J.W. Moore, Charlie Frank Moore and Buddy Moore. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James O. Spicer; five daughters, Sue Richards (Todd) of Kinston, Gail Moss (Steve) of Samson, July Messick (Victor) of New Brockton, Jan Spicer of Samson, and Denise Woods (Randy) of Coffee Springs; two sons, Rickey Spicer (Cathy) of Elba and David Spicer of Coffee Springs; one sister, Mildred Hall (Ander) of Apotka, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pittman Funeral Home in Samson, (334) 898-7141, is in charge of arrangements.
