Sister Lillie Mae McHellon, of 219 Railroad St., Headland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, Aug. 15, 2007, at her residence. She was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church in Headland with the Rev. C.S. Pope officiating.
The body will be available for public viewing from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Headland Peoples Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George McHellon; three sons, George, Samuel, Billy and Willie James McHellon; four daughters, Lillie Katherine Murphy, Elizabeth Jones, Bessie Vickers and Ethel Dell Jones; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Frank Vickers; three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include five daughters, Martha White, Linda (Samuel) Bryant, Ophelia (the Rev. Grant) Pierce, Mae (Charles) Milsap, all of Atlanta, Lorraine (Joseph) Walker of Headland; 35 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Frazier, Annie Ruth (James) Hollis, of Dothan, and Minnie Reynolds, of Abbeville; two brothers, the Rev. Willie Everheart and Henry Everheart of Dothan; one daughter-in-law, Bridget McHellon; two sons-in-law, Murphy Jones Sr. and Jesse Jones Sr., all of Atlanta; special friends, Almeta Whatley, Emma Jane Wiggins, Corilne Daniels, Glovers McKay, all of Headland, and Ola Mae Moore of Dothan; special nieces, Irene Rackston of Headland and Gail Glover of Dothan and a host of other relatives and friends.
