Annie Jean McClenny Howell of East Main Street in Headland died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 15, 2007, in a Dothan hospital. She was 91.
Funeral services will be Friday in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel at 11 a.m. with Mr. George Mayer officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter, Susan Bostick, 209 Alice Drive in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Waters Counseling Inc., 525 � E. Church St., Headland, AL 36345.
Mrs. Howell was born and reared in Newville, daughter of the late Jodie Dean McClenny and Nancy Jane Fears McClenny. She had been a resident of Headland since 1935. In earlier years, Mrs. Howell and her late husband, Huron Howell, owned and operated a residential construction company and rental property business in Headland. After the death of Mr. Howell in 1991, she continued to operate the rental property business until her death. Mrs. Howell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jefferson Huron Howell; a grandson, Phillip Bostick; five sisters, Fannie Wright, Willie Taylor, Frances White, Mary Ganus and Ethel Bond and a brother, Dewey McClenny.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Susan Howell Bostick and husband, Jacky Bostick, of Headland; two grandchildren, Sherri Bostick Messersmith and husband, Paul Messersmith, of Powder Springs, Ga., John Bostick and wife, Morgan Bostick, of Headland; two great-grandchildren, Trent Messersmith and Kaylee Grace Bostick; numerous nieces and nephews.
