Mr. Loyd Buren Turner, 79, of Graceville, Fla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, after an extended illness with cancer.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Graceville. Burial will follow at the New Prospect Cemetery in Hartford. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 9 until 10 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Graceville with the Rev. Huey Hughes officiating.
Mr. Turner was born March 4, 1928, in Hartford, the sone of Buren and Irene Turner of Hartford. Mr. Turner and his wife, Betty, and daughter, Deborah, moved to Graceville in 1969. The Turners owned and operated Turners Service Station and Grocery Store on Highway 77 South for 13 years. Loyd was also employed by the Jackson County School Board for 16 years as a bus driver. He was retired at the time of his passing.
Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Betty Williams Turner, of Graceville; one daughter, Deborah Odom and her husband, Danny, of Graceville; two grandchildren, Daina Odom of Gainesville, Fla., and Daniel Odom of Graceville; one brother, Gary Turner and his wife, Marcelle, of Dothan; one sister, Helen Anderson of Hartford, many kind and loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Buren and Irene Turner of Hartford.
