Exie Bagwell Snell Henderson of Dothan died Saturday morning, Aug. 11, 2007, in Westside Terrace. She was 88.
Funeral services will be Monday in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Dave Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Enon Baptist Cemetery, near Midland City. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the home of a son, Billy Spann, 110 Ridge Road in Dothan.
Mrs. Henderson was born and reared in the Bagwell Crossroads community in Dale County, daughter of the late Wilburn Bagwell and Eva Mae Grantham Bagwell. She lived most of her adult lifetime in the Christian Hill community, between Midland City and Echo, before moving to Dothan in 2001. Mrs. Henderson was a member of the Mt. Enon Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Wex-Tex Manufacturing Company in Headland and also White Knight Manufacturing Company in Ozark.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husbands, Lewie Snell and Clem Henderson; two sons, Phillip Snell and Randall Snell; two grandchildren, Mike Spann and Erin Elizabeth Miller; a sister, Minnie Henderson and three brothers, Harold Bagwell, Max Bagwell and Rex Bagwell.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Tammie Haynes of Ozark; two sons, Gary Spann and wife Elizabeth Spann of Newport, Tenn,; Billy Spann and wife Gayle Spann of Dothan; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Snell of Dothan; a sister, Opal Lewis of Dothan; three brothers, Edgar Bagwell, Kenneth Bagwell and Paul Bagwell, all of Dothan; eight grandchildren, Randy Spann, Kathy Lynn, Joe Spann, Lisa Skinner, Kevin Snell, Jason Snell, Steven Haynes and Lee Culp; several great-grandchildren.
