Jessie Clara MacDonald of Dothan passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 73.
Funeral services will be Saturday in First Presbyterian Church of Dothan at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Baxter officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Hill. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations can be made to a favorite charity.
Mrs. MacDonald was born on July 20, 1934, in Starkville, Miss., and resided the early years of her life there. She was a homemaker and she and her family lived in the Panama Canal Zone as well as many other places being a U.S.Army wife until moving to Dothan in 1976. Mrs. MacDonald was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, William S. "Bill" MacDonald of Dothan; sons, Steven MacDonald and his wife Hsiao-Fang of Andover, Mass., John MacDonald of Starkville, Miss.; daughter, Linda MacDonald Campbell of Dothan; grandchildren, Michelle Kuriger, Madison MacDonald, Christopher Campbell, Patrick MacDonald, Faith MacDonald, Jeremy MacDonald; sisters, Florence Smith of Caledonia, Calif., Sarah "Jackie" Berch of Sturgis, Miss.; an aunt, Bobbie Boyd, Pearl, Miss.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Crematory of Dothan, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements.
