Fox F. Catrett of Dothan died unexpectedly, Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 76.
Funeral services will be Wednesday in Byrd Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with the Revs. Billy Stephenson, Bobby Richardson, Rick Hayes and Dennis Tew officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Byrd Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Local Kidney Foundation, P.O. Box 5994, Dothan, AL, 36302.
Mr. Catrett was born May 19, 1931, in Pike County. He was a graduate of Turner High School in Phenix City and attended Wallace Community College. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Air Force.
A lifetime resident of Dothan and a business owner for 40 years, he was president and founder of Florida Microfilm Corporation in Dothan and Crestview, Fla., and also Fox Enterprises (Enterprise Office Supply) in Enterprise.
Mr. Catrett was a member of Smyrna Baptist Baptist Church since 1962 and served as a deacon for many years.
Survivors include wife, Nelda Tomlin Catrett of Dothan; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail Catrett Murphy and husband William T. Murphy of Dothan; his mother, Irene Catrett Morris of Dothan; a grandson, Jeremy Floyd; a granddaughter, April Wilson and husband Gregory Wilson; great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Wilson, Claira Lynn Wilson and Laura Kate Wilson; a step-grandson, William Murphy and wife Ashley Murphy; five sisters, Ethel Simpler, Catherine Spann, Betty Kootnz, Shirley Robinson and Judy Sheridan; three brothers, Bobby Catrett, Henry Catrett and Jack Catrett; several special sister-in-laws and other family members also survive.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Florida Microfilm and Enterprise Office Supply.
Byrd Funeral Home, (334) 793-3003, is in charge of arrangements.
