Mrs. Susie Mae Stanier of Geneva passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, at her residence after a long illness. She was 88.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 until 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, in care of Shanna Brock, 705 Westmont St., Geneva, AL 36340.
Mrs. Stanier was born June 27, 1919, to the late Clifford & Vivian Gresham Ashley. Prior to her retirement, she as a bookkeeper for Sears.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Stanier and one brother, Edward Ashley.
Survivors include two sons, Phillip G. (Mauren) Brown and Randy (Sheri) Brown both of Elko, Nev.; one daughter, Mary Frances Sellers of Peoria, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Thelma Urquhart of Apoka, Fla., Mary Folsom of Poteau, Okla., Ramona Booth of Black, Frances McClure of Bristol, Fla., and Sharlyn Smith of Blountstown, Fla.; two brothers, Charles (Joyce) Ashley of Bay St. Louis, Mo., and Larry Ashley of Mobile.
