Mrs. Sybil Newsome Childs

Mrs. Sybil Newsome Childs passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2007, after a brief illness. She was 87. Funeral services will be Thursday in St. Paul Methodist Church at 2:00 pm with the Rev. John M. Belcher officiating and internment will follow at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at church one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul Methodist Church. Mrs. Childs was preceded in death by her husband Joe F. Childs a daughter Cindy Childs Baker and a son Joel Childs. She is survived by five grandchildren, Chris and Dana Robinson, Jody and Jennifer Childs, Richie and Cheri Cox, Britt and Amy Baker, Brandi Baker (Dusty Pouncey). She also had two great-grandchildren, Christopher Robinson and Hannah Baker; a son-in-law, Ronnie Baker; a daughter-in-law, Judy Childs Joiner. Pallbearers will be members of the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Bottoms-Garden Chapel in Hartford, (334) 588-3250, is in charge of arrangements.
