Ms. Kelly Elizabeth Watford Keel of Dothan passed away Friday July 13, 2007, at Flowers Hospital. She was 38.
Funeral services will be today in the Chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home in Dothan at 2 p.m. with Dr. Joseph L. Johnson of Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Dothan officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Other than scheduled visitation times the family will gather at the residence of Kelly (2102 Centenial Dr. Dothan). The interment will be held at a later date by the family at Dothan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society (255 Jerry Dr. Dothan, AL. 36303) and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America P.O. Box 29119 Phoenix, AZ 85038-9119.
Kelly was born on Aug. 24, 1968, in Dothan. After high school she graduated from Wallace College where she earned her LPN nursing degree. She was currently employed with Flowers Hospital as a pharmacy technician. She had previously been employed with the Southeast Alabama Medical Center, and at the office of Dr. Mike Soppet. A trait Kelly will always be remembered for is her caring and loving nature.
She loved her family, friends and animals; but she will mostly be remembered as a loving mother to her son Christopher and a loving daughter to her parents.
She is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Buell Watford and Frances Mizelle Watford; maternal grandfather, William "John" Stuart.
She is survived by son, Christopher J. Keel of Dothan; father, Ed Mizelle Watford and wife (Suzanne) of Dothan; mother, Helen Watford Burdette of Fairhope; brother, Jeb Stuart Watford of Dothan; grandmother, Pearl Stuart of Banks; stepsister, Rachel Hodges of Birmingham; Christophers father, Lonnie Keel of Dothan; Christophers grandmother, Nancy Keel of Dothan; several aunts, uncles and cousins; numerous friends and extended family.
Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home in Dothan, (334) 793-1117, is in charge of arrangements.
