L.C. "Chuck" Kirkland of Daleville passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, in the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 74. Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday at the Shiloh Cemetery in Clayhatchee at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. At all other times the family will be at the home of a daughter, Carla King, 136 Doe Run Dr. in Newton. Chuck was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Houston County to the late T.J. and Lucile Kornegay Kirkland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the owner and operator of C & B Barber Shop in Daleville until his death. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Kirkland. Survivors include his wife Leila Kirkland of Daleville; three daughters, Sheila McSween (Fred) of Midland City, Necia Ross (Tim) of Thomasville, Ga., Carla King (Tommy) of Newton; one son, Scott Kirkland (Connie) of Malvern; stepdaughter, Enecy Seitz (Steve) of Germany; two sisters, Juanita Gardner of Slocomb, Robbie Deese (Bobby) of Dothan; three brothers, Cecil Kirkland (Celeste) of Dothan, Tommy Kirkland (Ann) of Midland City, Billy Kirkland (Gail) of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, Veleka McSween, Bran McSween, Shane McSween, Josh King and Jada King; one step grandchild, Ian Seitz; numerous nieces and nephews.
