Mickey Gene Fischer of Dothan died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at his home. He was 65.
Funeral services for Mr. Fischer will be Saturday in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage at 10 a.m. with Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Fischer was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Dale county and lived in Cottonwood for many years before moving to Dothan. He was an aircraft mechanic and worked at Pemco World Air Services.
Mr. Fischer preceded in death by his step father, Clarence Butler.
Mr. Fischer is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sylvia Fischer of Dothan, two daughters, Lori Ann Lewis of Dothan, Paula Lynn Fischer of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandson, Nicholas Scott Avant of Dothan; half brothers, Butch Butler of Ashford, Gary Butler of Echo; special aunt, Alma Dean; special cousin, Peggy Newman.
The family wishes to thank Wiregrass Hospice and their staff for the care and support of Mr. Fischer.
