Mrs. Geraldine Warr Parker of Dothan passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Wesley Manor Retirement Center after an extended illness.
Graveside services will be Friday in New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Yawn officiating. In accordance with Mrs. Parkers wishes, there will be no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3813 South County Road 85, Slocomb, AL 36375 or to Cloverdale Methodist Church, 102 Rollins Avenue, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mrs. Parker lived and worked in Benson, N.C., before returning to the Wiregrass in the early seventies. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Ray Hughes Chevrolet and Ed Sherling Ford until her retirement. She was an active member of Cloverdale Methodist Church and a volunteer in her community.
Her husband, Arthur T. Parker, as well as her parents Thomas J. Warr and Cora Seglar Warr, and a nephew, Ray Bass, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her niece and her husband, Dorothy and Rames Creel of Slocomb; her nephew and his wife, James and Pat Bass of Malvern; her niece-in-law, Clara Bass of Montgomery; her great-nieces, Cindy Trawick of Malvern, Beth Pate of Montgomery, Joan Brunson of Athens, Cora Casey of Slocomb, Joleen Winningham of Slocomb, Patty Ballard of Slocomb, Donna Williford of Memphis, Tenn.; two great-nephews, Tim Bass of Malvern and Tom Bass of Guntersville; several great-great nieces and nephews.
Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb, (334) 886-7777, is in charge of arrangements.
