Hattie Mae Fountain Chambliss of Vaughn Towers in Dothan passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was 85.
Funeral services will be today in the chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home (Dothan) at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Harden officiating. Burial will follow at Frith Hill Community Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Chambliss was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Houston county. She was the daughter of the late Noah and Mollie Fountain. She was the owner of the Conrad Bag Business where she made feed bags for 30 years. Mrs. Chambliss was a member of Frith Hill Community Church for the past 10 years.
Mrs. Chambliss was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin Chambliss; and a son, Charles Conrad.
Survivors include three daughters, Eloise Aldrich of Dothan, Ann Martin of Ashford and Sue Traylor of Dothan; two sons, Ricky Conrad of Dothan and the Rev. Bobby Conrad of Ashford; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Audrey Costelli; special friend, Patricia Dickerson.
Active pallbearers will be Steven Battle, Terry Battle, Keith Aldrich, Richard Conrad, Richard Medley and Roger Cureton.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Extendicare for their special care.
