Ina Meeker Clenney, a resident of County Road 133, Abbeville, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 8, 2007, at her home. She was 97.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. John W. Helton Jr. officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sardis Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Louise Smith, 204 Lightfoot Road, Abbeville, Ala. 36310.
Mrs. Clenney was born in Sand Springs, Okla., daughter of the late James Grant Meeker and Lana Odell Meeker. She formerly lived in Birmingham, Ala., Portland, Ore., and Niles, Calif., before moving to Abbeville in 1968. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Clenney.
Surviving relatives include three nieces, Nancy McPherson and husband, Bryan McPherson, Huntsville, Ala., Robbie Weir and husband, Jack Weir, Vaccaville, Calif., Betty Mims and husband, Billy Mims, Abbeville; a nephew, John W. Clenney and wife, Charlotte Clenney, Abbeville.
