Mr. Arnold J. Amenda of Ozark died Thursday, July 5, 2007, in Dale Medical Center. He was 84.
Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with the Rev. Dr. Christian Eckert and the Rev. Marty Hamilton officiating. Interment followed in Westview Memorial Cemetery with military honors rendered by the U.S. Navy. Holman Funeral Home directed.
Mr. Amenda was born June 25, 1923, in Farmington, Wis., and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II on the Aircraft Carrier USS Essex in the South Pacific. He worked as a dance instructor with Arthur Murray Studio in Fort Worth, Texas, for several years. Mr. Amenda was an insurance agent and later served as the Golf Pro at Ozark Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lawrence Amenda and Emory Amenda.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jaann and Nigel Wells of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Arnold Amenda Jr. and wife, Amy Hepburn Amenda, of Seattle, Wash.; his friend and companion, Sue Hicks of Ozark; one sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Warren Bohlinger; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bill Amenda, Don and Deloris Amenda, Irwin and Theonia Amenda; four grandchildren, Kimberly Gordon and husband, Scott, Allison Draper and husband, Thomas, Angie Ganey and husband, Brandon, Eben Wells and wife, Ashlie; four great-grandchildren, Tripp Gordon, Beasley Gordon, Callie Ganey and Emily Ann Ganey.
Memorials may be made in his memory to your favorite charity.
