Marion Goding of Enterprise died on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was 74.
Funeral services will be today in New Home Baptist Church, 2734 County Road 617 in Enterprise at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cliff Quincy officiating and Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home directing. Niche entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
Flowers are being accepted and may be delivered to Sunset at 1808 Barrington Rd.
Mrs. Goding was born on Sept. 29, 1932, in Dryden, Maine, and was the daughter of the late Clyde Burton Cook and the late Sylvia Aretta Witham Cook. She received her education in Jay, Maine, graduating in 1950 from Jay High School. She married Bernard Atherton Goding of Farmington, Maine, on July 23, 1950. They resided in Maine until Aug. 1992 when they moved to Enterprise.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Dennis B. Cook, Alden W. Cook and Baby Cook; two sisters, Ardena V. Pomeroy and Claudia Mae Cook; and one granddaughter, Gina Goding.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Goding; two sons, Terry Alan Goding of Naples, Maine, and Floyd Dennis Goding of Lewiston, Maine; five daughters, June Ellen Goding of Augusta, Maine, Pamela Lynn Sears of South China, Maine, Monica Lee Whalen of Enterprise, Sharon Marie Goding of Enterprise, and Nancy Jean Goding of Chesterville, Maine; three brothers, Burchard M. Cook of Farmington, Dale H. Cook of Scranton, Pa., Steven Cook of Terrill, Texas; four sisters, Celia E. Wahl of Livermore Falls, Maine, Linda J. Kimball of Canton, Maine, Faye M. Hewitt of Rutland, Vt., and Betty Louise Levesque of Lewiston, Maine; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Crematory of Dothan, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements.
