Mrs. Johnnie C. Kelly of Dothan, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June
26, 2007. She was 88.
Mrs. Kelly was a graduate of Dothan High School and a member of Southside Baptist Church for over 50 years. She worked as an interior decorator and clothing consultant at Montgomery Ward for over 20 years in Dothan.Mrs. Kelly was married to the late Hoyt Franklin Harris of Slocomb until his death in 1959 and then to James Horace Kelly of Dothan until his death in 1996.
Mrs. Kelly was the daughter of Allen and Rosa Cherry and the sibling of Willa Mae Harris, Herbert Cherry, Floyd Cherry, S.A. Cherry, Allene Murphy and Donald Ray Cherry.She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn H. Borland and her husband Robert K. of Birmingham, and Dianne H. Chestnut and her husband John M. of Dothan, as well as her grandchildren; Jeff Borland, Cindy Allen and her husband James, Jennifer Robbins and her husband Reed, Christa Sager and Shannon Sager.
Her life will be celebrated at 2 P.M. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Ward Wilson Chapel with the Reverend Clint Adams officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund.
