Mr. Burles Roy Blansit died Wednesday evening, June 13, 2007, at his home in Ozark, Alabama. He was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, from the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. W.L. Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full military honors under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007.
Mr. Blansit was born July 20, 1932 at Valley Head, Alabama. He retired from the Army at Ft. Rucker in 1972 after 23 years of service. He served in the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. He retired from the State of Alabama after twenty years. Mr. Blansit was a school bus driver for Dale County and Ft. Rucker for over twenty-five years. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Blansit is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Blansit, of Ozark, AL;
four daughters: Cynthia (Charles) Melvin of Sugarland, TX;
Cheryll (Bill) Sineway of Ozark, AL;
Cathy (Raymond) Hart of Ozark, AL;
Christy (Michael) Raab of Woodstock, GA:
grandchildren: Jacob (Regina) Melvin; Paul Melvin; Stacy (Chris) Woodall; Adam Williams; Andy Williams; Daniel Hart; Katelyn Hart; Joshua Raab;
four great-grandchildren;
devoted sisters-in-law: Linda Foley and Alice Malone;
and devoted nieces: Dene Wilson, Robyn Tidwell, and Jamie Foley.
He will be greatly missed and loved by all.
