Martha Faye Hardy, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Oakview Manor Nursing Home in Ozark. She was 71.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donna Bevells officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Mrs. Hardy was born July 17, 1937 in Whigham, Georgia and lived the early years of her life there. During her husbands military career she resided in various places around the world before moving to Dothan in 1972. Mrs. Hardy was a homemaker and a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hardy is predeceased by a brother, Charles Lee Pyles and a sister, Marjorie Harrell.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Hardy of Dothan; two sons, Roger Leo Hardy of Dothan and Donald Eugene Hardy and his wife, Felicia of Rehobeth; six grandchildren, Candace Phillips, Jennifer Hardy, Amanda Brenner, Jared Hardy, Lucas Hardy and Kaleb Hardy; two great-grandchildren, Preston Lee Phillips and Jenna Brooke Phillips; a brother, Leon Pyles of Bainbridge, GA; two sisters, Eunice Bragg of Tallahassee, FL and Frances Cuthchens of Whigham, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons, Jared Hardy, Lucas Hardy and Kaleb Hardy, grandsons-in-law, Jeremy Phillips and Ben Brenner and nephews, Ronnie Hardy and Lamar Hardy.
