CONVICTED RAPIST ON TRIAL FOR MURDER

Convicted rapist Tony Evens is on trial again, but this time for capital murder. Evens is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for sexually assaulting a fourteen year old girl. Yesterday marked the first day of the capital murder trial. Evens allegedly stabbed Nicole Lashon Smith in 1998 outside of her Johnson Homes Apartment. Evens was arrested three years later for the stabbing after investigtors found DNA linking him to the crime.
