HOUSTON COUNTY SHERIFF`S DEPARTMENT LOSES ONE OF ITS OWN

The Houston County Sheriff`s Department is morning the loss of one of their own, as Lt. Gary Lindsey died Friday following a five week battle with liver cancer. Lt. Lindsey became a Deputy with the Houston County Sheriff`s Department in 1980 where he served for 24 years. In 1999, he was transferred to the Department of Court Liason. Funeral services for Lt. Lindsey will be today at 2 p. m., and is being handled by Byrd Funeral Home. His family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of your choice, or the American Cancer Society.
